Armored
Piercing and fire are effective routes; concertina armor punishes careless close contact. Retreat space matters more than rushing the final hit.
- Variants
- 2
boss
Assassin
Use a hammer or other strong blunt option with stamina support. Place poison/fire where the solid form repeatedly appears, keeping an escape lane. Control clones and pressure the real form together rather than chasing every insect movement.
- Variants
- 3
animal
Bats
Gulch sound trap; check overhead/rock routes rather than looking only at the ground.
- Variants
- 1
boss
Bloodskin
Concentrate on one armor plate to open a weak point, then reuse that angle. In the second form, expect movement through wells and attacks involving its weapon. High-output explosive or Nitro routes exist, but positioning and weak-point accuracy determine success.
- Variants
- 2
special
Brute
Use exposed weak points and avoid committing into a charge. Ursa Mortis is a distinct tougher variant. Poison became stronger against both in 2.7.
- Variants
- 2
boss
Butcher
For economical clears, use a strong slashing world weapon with controlled hits and retreat space. A correctly attached Sticky Bomb is a faster but noisy opening. Chokes remove the burning hook temporarily; 2.7 allows frenzy to relight it. Move away during frenzy rather than trading hits.
- Variants
- 3
animal
Chickens
A cage is both an alarm and a possible Chupacabra resource. Its lantern is an ignition interaction.
- Variants
- 1
animal
Cow
An injured cow is an alarm source, including bell variants; a live one can be a Chupacabra interaction.
- Variants
- 2
animal
Crows
Route around flocks when possible; triggering leaves information for other teams.
- Variants
- 1
animal
Ducks
Treat water flocks as an alarm and possible route marker.
- Variants
- 1
special
Firebreather
It pauses before a ranged flame attack. A direct Water Bottle/choke hit is a particularly efficient counter. Blunt timing or ranged head hits can avoid risky close contact.
- Variants
- 1
common
Grunt
Use a quiet melee head strike where safe. Identify doctor, torch, pistol and miner variants before choosing a hit: they can add poison, fire or a loud discharge.

wildTarget
Hellborn
Find it in Mammon’s Gulch using its Dark Sight sound. Use solid cover and lateral movement against projectile volleys, and avoid being trapped by a charge. Water Bottles and chokes are useful counterplay. Keep healing/fire protection ready.
- Variants
- 1
special
Hellhound
Control the pack and use accurate head attacks. Masked heads can obstruct hits; do not assume the armor is decorative.
- Variants
- 2
special
Hive
Target the exposed human head to stop the swarm source. Avoid fighting in an open swarm while already engaged with Hunters.
- Variants
- 1
animal
Horse
An injured horse is an alarm source and may have a saddle loot variant; a live one can be a Chupacabra interaction.
- Variants
- 2
special
Immolator
Use blunt hits or water/choke counterplay. Piercing or shooting can trigger its dangerous fire state. Poison bullets and poison clouds do not share its immunity behavior.
- Variants
- 1
special
Leech
Small detector associated with larger monsters; remove or avoid it before committing to a close route.
- Variants
- 2
special
Meathead
Avoid the leeches and poison-linked detection. Poison or a suitable explosive can clear it, but compare time, noise and ammunition against the value of the trait drop.
- Variants
- 3
wildTarget
Rotjaw
Locate directional traces on the Louisiana maps. Fight close to a usable shore, sidestep the indicated charges, then punish recovery with a heavy hit. Below half health, avoid stamina-draining black water and give yourself room to leave it.
- Variants
- 1
boss
Scrapbeak
For maximum preserved loot, use piercing melee or poison and avoid fire/explosives. Turn off nearby lamps that could burn drops. Let each frenzy finish and keep clear of newly deployed concertina before resuming hits.
- Variants
- 2
boss
Spider
Use fire or a well-attached Sticky Bomb while the target is settled. Keep room to evade pounces and avoid prolonged melee contact during aggressive bursts. An antidote protects against the poison component, not the pounce itself.
- Variants
- 3
animal
Trapped Dogs
Caged dogs form an alarm group; each live dog can provide a separate Chupacabra interaction.
- Variants
- 1
special
Water Devil
Choose a crossing with an exit route. Clearing one water patch is temporary relief, not permanent removal of the water hazard.
- Variants
- 2

Weavers
Web-related AI availability depends on the event. Bileweaver and Bloodweaver behaviors should be separate entries; Chapter 2 adds the Blood Moon-dependent red variant after its stated event date.
