How I sourced this section
Where the numbers, map positions and strategies come from, how fresh they are, and what's still unresolved.
Checked against the patch notes on .
This section is built on a research collection put together on 8 October 2026. Nobody launched the game, read installed game files or ran a fresh in-game test campaign for it. Everything came from public sources: official patch notes and guides, public community-extracted data, community wikis, creator guides and community discussion. Every entry keeps a link to the source it came from.
Versions
- Extracted data: game build 2.9.0.41. Almost every number, catalog entry and map position comes from this snapshot. I don't relabel it as a newer build.
- Official reference: patch 2.9.1 (5 October 2026) and the Blood Testament Chapter 2 notes (6 October 2026). These were the newest official release notes when I checked on 8 October.
- When the two disagree, the official notes win, and the affected page says what changed.
How much weight each kind of source carries
- Current official patch notes outrank everything else.
- Official evergreen guides are useful but can lag behind recent patches. Pain Sense is an example: an official page still says 75 m, while the extracted data says 150 m. I show both rather than pick one.
- Community-extracted data shows how the game is configured, not necessarily what's unlocked today. Most of it comes from Kamille's Hunt resources, cross-checked against Bayou Index and the Hunt Almanac.
- Creator guides and community wiki pages describe practical methods. I treat them as guidance.
- Reddit threads and social posts were used to find things and corroborate them, never as the only basis for a number.
Some YouTube videos could only be researched through their titles, descriptions and written companion articles. I don't claim every video was watched.
What's still unresolved
- Money purses and caravans. Most purse locations sit inside generic loot systems, and burned convoys have no separate layer in the map data. The maps show candidate sites and say so; they don't pretend to be an exact purse or caravan map.
- Skin and Hunter coverage. The data has 801 equipment skins and 254 Hunters. Other community catalogs report larger totals because they count variants and filters differently, and that difference isn't resolved.
- Unlock methods and store availability for most skins, charms and cosmetics are unknown.
- Damage formulas. There's no verified, complete material-penetration table or per-hit-zone, per-phase boss damage formula, so there's no "exact damage" calculator here. See what damage numbers mean.
- Ammunition IDs. Seven ammunition compatibility IDs, across 13 weapon records, have no matching ammunition entry. I list them as unresolved and never offer them as choices.
- Map layers overlap. Two markers can describe the same physical spot, so marker counts aren't unique-object counts.
Map positions and artwork
The map positions come from Kamille's interactive maps. I draw them on a plain grid rather than reproducing anyone's basemap images. Map art, game art and skin artwork belong to Crytek and the community map makers, and the right to republish them wasn't established, so none of it is copied here. No lore or third-party descriptions are copied either.
Keeping it current
I re-import the data when a patch lands, compare every record by its ID, keep previous values in version history, and review changed mechanics before they go live. Corrections I've verified by hand are kept separately from the imported data and say when and why they were made.
