How Hunt: Showdown 1896 is structured, how this section is organized, and what the labels on every page mean.
Checked against the patch notes on .
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is an extraction game. Teams of Hunters compete over the same objective while the map itself fights back with monsters, animal alarms and noise traps. In Bounty Hunt, you investigate clues to narrow down where a boss is, kill and banish it, and then try to leave the map alive with the bounty. Whatever your Hunter is carrying only comes home if they extract. Bounty Clash and Soul Survivor play differently enough that I treat them as separate topics rather than variations of the same advice.
I built this section as a reference first and a guide second. Every item, Hunter, trait and map position comes from a structured research collection, and every page says where its numbers come from.
Where to find things
- Equipment: weapons, ammunition, tools, consumables and Tarot cards. Each weapon page lists the ammunition it can actually load.
- Traits, with their upgrade-point costs. Retired traits are kept in the archive so old links still go somewhere.
- Hunters, skins, charms and profile cosmetics. A skin always points to its base item, because a skin never changes how a weapon works.
- Bosses and monsters, with weaknesses and the different ways to clear them.
- Maps for Stillwater Bayou, Lawson Delta, DeSalle and Mammon's Gulch, with filters for cash registers, Trait Spurs, supply sites, animals and much more.
- Planners: a loadout and trait planner, a weapon comparison and an ammunition finder.
What the labels mean
Unknown means unknown. When the data doesn't have a value, I show "Unknown". I never turn a missing value into zero, "No", "unavailable" or "immune". A monster with no listed fire resistance isn't immune to fire; nobody recorded the number.
Versions are kept apart. Most numbers come from an extracted copy of game build 2.9.0.41. I checked them against the current official patch, 2.9.1, plus the October 6 Blood Testament Chapter 2 notes. Where the patch notes changed something, I go by the patch notes and say so on the page.
Availability is only claimed when it's known. Most entries carry "In the extracted data; current availability not verified". That's deliberate. The data shows how something was configured, which isn't proof you can buy or unlock it today. Content announced for an upcoming event, like The Atlas, Temperance and the Long Derringer, stays marked Announced until the unlock is confirmed.
Strategy is my guidance, not a guarantee. Boss routes and loadout advice draw on official notes, the community wiki and named creator guides. They describe what tends to work, not what always works. Hunt changes with every patch.
